DISCOVER VIHARNRA SIEN AND THE WAT YANSANGWARARAM IN SOUTH PATTAYA

About twenty kilometers south of Pattaya you find Viharnra Sien (the “House of the Gods”), a beautiful Chinese temple recently used as a museum. It houses a unique collection, one of the best outside of China. You will find the fine Chinese pottery of several dynasties, sometimes dating back 3.000 years, statues of monks of the Shaolin monastery in the ancient China each displaying a form of martial art, a number warrior figures in terracotta and other objects coming from the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi. And many other exciting Chinese art. A short distance away, you will find the Wat Yansangwararam temple, a huge complex of modern temples of different architectural styles. They are located in a vast area with well-kept gardens and a large lake, a nice quiet place to relax. As you walk you will be able to see Khao Chi Chan (Buddha Mountain), a huge image of the Buddha laser etched into the side of the mountain and then illuminated with gold leaf, a monument carved in honour of the 50th anniversary of king Rama IX’s reign.
