Jewel of the Andaman Sea, Koh Phi Phi is one of the nicest small archipelagos in the world. It consists of a set of six islands of which only Phi Phi Don is inhabited. It has the shape of a butterfly deposited on the sea. All the others, protected by their status as a national park, are underdeveloped and have kept their natural character. They are visited in day trips. Phi Phi Leh is still of appreciable size but the other four are all big rocks emerging from the sea.

It is on Phi Phi Leh, in Maya Bay, that the epic movie “The Beach” was filmed, with Leonardo DiCaprio. You can go see this famous bay, its dazzling white sandy beach and turquoise sea but advise to do this early in the morning before the arrival of most tourists. If you like an animated nightlife, on Koh Phi Phi Don, Tonsai Bay and its village offer restaurants, bars and shops. If you prefer a quieter life, choose one of the beautiful little beaches along the island.

As you have already been diving or spent long hours to relax on the beach, you want a bit of inland sports. The climb to the viewpoint of Phi Phi Don is a short walk that will reward your effort. The viewpoint is accessed by a vertical climb of about three hundred meters that includes hundreds of steps, with steep and narrow winding tracks. The views you enjoy when reaching the summit are incredible: the scenery of the islanders and seascapes extend to infinity and offer a colorful palette dominated by greens and blues. A rewarding spectacle indeed.
