PROGRAM ITINERARY

DAY BY DAY DESCRIPTION OF THIS EXCEPTIONAL ADVENTURE THEME PROGRAM

DAY 1 (LUNCH)

BANGKOK – AYUTTHAYA - KHAO YAI

Upon your arrival in Bangkok, you take the road towards Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya was the capital of the kingdom which took the place of Sukhothai and ruled for over 400 years. Its configuration, its splendour made it called the Venice of the East, a historic city full of monuments and magnificent remains in a historic park listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO. First you will visit the ruins of a temple of the old capital of Siam, the Wat Chaiwattanaram, located on the banks of the river. It is one of the most impressive temples of Ayutthaya combining Khmer and Thai art. Afterwards you make a boat trip around the island of Ayutthaya, before visiting the Wat Phra Si Sanphet. Built in 1491, it was the only temple located inside the Grand Palace without residential monks, an original idea taken over by King Chakri when he built the Emerald Buddha Temple in the Grand Palace in Bangkok. During the glory days of the Ayutthaya kingdom it was the largest temple in the city and the ashes of certain kings of Ayutthaya were kept there. After your lunch you will discover the Wat Yai Chaimongkol, known for its huge reclining chedi, before continuing your journey to your hotel in Khao Yai, which you will reach in the late afternoon.

DAY 2 (BREAKFAST/LUNCH)

KHAO YAI

After your busy day yesterday, you have a free morning at leisure to rest. After lunch, you will first visit a temple cave used by Buddhist monks for their meditation. At dusk, you will have the opportunity to witness the flight of millions of bats with wrinkled lips. They then form a real snake-shaped cloud that flies in the sky. You’ll complete your day with an impressive view of the park from a viewpoint overlooking the whole park, before going back to your hotel.

DAY 3 (BREAKFAST/LUNCH)

KHAO YAI

Today you leave your hotel to visit the National Park of Khao Yai which is registered as a Unesco World Heritage site and is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful parks in the world. It is home to about 2,000 plant species, 70 species of mammals, 70 species of reptiles and amphibians, 300 species of birds and a host of insects and butterflies. There are more than 200 wild elephants but also bears, leopards, tigers, gibbons, elks, deers, hornbills … and even crocodiles in the park, not to mention impressive pythons.

On the road that leads you to the reception centre, you will have the opportunity to admire a magnificent view. Afterwards, you walk on a hiking trail in a deep and dense jungle and enjoy the fabulous fauna and flora on a constant background noise of shouts and songs of wild animals. Then you visit the beautiful Haew Suwat waterfalls where you will enjoy your lunch and have the opportunity to swim in the natural pool.

In the afternoon you will be driven to the top of the second highest mountain in the park where you can enjoy a magnificent view. By late afternoon, you will go in search of elephants who perhaps will come to the point where they find salty rocks they like to lick. You return to the hotel in the evening.

DAY 4 (BREAKFAST/LUNCH)
