The Gulf of Siam, a chance to enjoy sea, sand and sun but not only. But why not complete it visiting the magnificent nature on the mainland?
On your way you navigate in the middle of the Damnoen Saduak floating market mixed with local shopkeepers and customers, a colourful and animated show. Afterwards another spectacle immerses you in different moments of the Thai people’s life. A diverting way to learn about real Thailand.
From Hua Hin, the royal seaside city, you tour around the Kaeng Krachan National Park to enjoy some of the 16 successive falls of the Pala-U waterfall surrounded by jungle and earing monkeys and wild birds, before visiting the village of the Karen hill tribe. The following day you visit the National Park of Khao Sam Roi Yod and its magnificent landscape, an opportunity to climb to the famous Phraya Nakhon cave, much beloved by the kings of Thailand and particularly by Rama V. Then you have a full day to dedicate to sea, sand and sun in Hua Hin!
Early morning, you visit the floating market of Damnoen Saduak in Ratchaburi province, about a hundred kilometers southwest of Bangkok. This small village has several floating markets, narrow networks of khlongs (channels), scattered in different areas. Trade is done by boat. Many of the market people wear the traditional costume: a straw hat and a fitted shirt, symbol of the peasant community. They sell their products to clients on the banks or on board. Overloaded sampans offer delicious fresh vegetables, fruits, spices and decorative handicrafts. After this shimmering visit, you continue to Nakhon Pathom to discover the Phra Pathom Chedi, the tallest stupa in the world. You will enjoy your lunch in the Rose Garden followed by a cultural show that will allow you to attend a Thai marriage, a Thai boxing fighting match, a monk’s ordination … and other events and traditions of the lives of the Thai. You will then head to Hua Hin to reach your hotel in the late afternoon.
Pala-U waterfall is located in the Kaeng Krachan National Park, one of the largest in Thailand, located about 60 km west of Hua-Hin. The water rushes down 16 successive falls and the surrounding forest is populated by gibbons and rare bird species. Near the Pala-U Waterfall is a Karen village, which was founded there about 200 years ago by people of Burmese origin. You start your day early and on the way West and the mountains, you will see many pineapple plantations. Continuing through intact tropical forest to the Pala-U waterfall, you will make a trek to the 4th waterfall that houses a natural pool populated with carps. Here you can enjoy your time close to this beautiful waterfall and in the surrounding jungle, monkeys and wild birds can be heard and sometimes even seen. After the waterfall, you visit the village of the Karen hill tribe. Until today the villagers lead a life governed by ancient traditions and they have their own language. You discover their simple lifestyle and you attend a demonstration of their knowledge. At the end of this exciting trip you will return to your hotel.
Today you will visit the National Park of Khao Sam Roi Yod with its magnificent surroundings. A short boat ride takes you to a deserted beach from where you go walk (+/- 20 minutes) to the famous Phraya Nakhon cave, much beloved by the kings of Thailand and in which Rama V built a small pavilion.
Note: Depending on weather conditions, the boat used to visit the National Park of Khao Sam Roi Yod may have to be canceled. In that case you will visit a pineapple plantation where you can taste freshly picked ripe fruit, and the Wat Chedi Pakdee Pakad temple with a superb panoramic view of the Gulf of Thailand and coconut plantations. After your lunch you return to your hotel at the beach of Hua Hin.
